Jane’s Vision
With a deep passion for service, Jane has always been committed to protecting and uplifting those around her. Witnessing the lack of resources in many communities—particularly among minorities, seniors, and youth who often struggle to advocate for themselves—motivated her to take meaningful action. After planting roots in Tukwila, she made it her mission to represent and serve her community, working to ensure that everyone has equal access to opportunity and a voice in local government.
Jane has actively participated in civic life through roles such as serving on the Tukwila Planning Commission, contributing to Tukwila’s Historical Society, and previously applying for council vacancies. She believes that to effectively take on the responsibilities of leadership, one must be educated, prepared, and ready to serve. Jane lives by those principles. She values responsibility, punctuality, and consistent participation—attending meetings, engaging with the public, and following through on commitments are non-negotiables in her approach to leadership.
Jane understands firsthand how mental health affects our quality of life—within families and communities. These struggles aren't always visible; sometimes they’re hidden. Too often, people are left feeling isolated or alone. Jane believes strong, connected communities are essential. They give us a sense of belonging, support, and purpose—reminding us that we are seen, valued, and loved. Jane is a advocate for expanding access to mental health services for all, recognizing that mental wellness isn't just personal—it’s a key part to building healthy, resilient and thriving communities.
Jane is dedicated to contributing to Tukwila’s continued growth and celebration of its diversity. She takes great pride in making life better for families, small businesses, and neighborhoods throughout the city. For Jane, success is defined not just by policies or positions, but by creating a safe, welcoming environment for current and future residents. As long as she is making a positive impact on the community she calls home, she considers that a true win.
